Puri residents are not allowed to see the procession from the roof

Puri residents are not allowed to see the procession from the roof

People living in Puri Baddanda cannot see the rath yatra from the roof.  Such a decision was taken by the district administration on Saturday.  Although it has been previously decided that devotees can stay on the roof and watch the procession, it has been changed today.  In addition, the district magistrate Samarth Burma asked devotees to stay indoors during the procession.

“No one can see the rath yatra on the roof of the houses on both sides of the bar.  The curfew will be in force in Puri during the procession.  The curfew will be in force one night before and the next afternoon.  In addition, Section 114 will be issued in Puri city, ”the district magistrate said.

“The hotels and lodges in Baddanda will be vacated two days before the rath yatra,” the district magistrate added.  "People can stay in hotels in other parts of the city, but they are not allowed to go out during the curfew."

Puri SDP, on the other hand, said, “There are 230 houses in Baddanda.  Staying on the roofs of houses is prohibited from seeing rath yatras.  The public will be made aware of this.  There are about 41 hotels and lodges in Baddand.  This lodge has been negotiated with the owners.  The decision was made not to book tourists two days before the ride.  In addition, these hotels and lodges will be vacated. ”
