*Offering Deep daan*

“By offering a lamp during the month of Kārttika one burns away a collection of sins as big as Mount Meru or Mount Mandara. Of this there is no doubt.”

(Skanda Purāṇa)

*Sing Damodarastakam*

"In the month of Kārttika one should worship Lord Damodara and daily recite the prayer known as Damodarastaka, which has been spoken by Sage Satyavratra and which attracts Lord Damodara.

(Sri Hari Bhakti Vilasa 2.16.198)

*Offer Tulasi to Kṛṣṇa*

" The result one obtains by giving ten thousand cows in charity can be obtained by offering only one tulasileaf to the Supreme Lord during the month of Kārttika.”

(Sri Hari-Bhakti-Vilasa, 7.335)

*Give charity*

This pious month is very dear to The Lord, charity done to the right receiver in the month of Kartik gives a thousand times of pious credits to the donor. 

*Visit Holy Dham*

Devotees from all around the world visit holy places such as Sri Vrindavan Dham, Sri Govardhan, Sri Barsana dham and relish the sweet pastimes of The Lord. 

*Perform austerities*

One may perform various types of austerities such as waking up early morning, eating only offered food, etc.

भगवान की कृपा ।

भगवान कृपा के लिए सदा तत्पर रहते हैं। यदि उनकी कृपा न होती तो हम जिस प्रकार रह रहे हैं ऐसे नहीं रह पाते। अनुकूल-प्रतिकूल परिस्थितियों की परवाह न करके प्रभु स्मरण भजन करना है। इस संसार में सारी अनुकूलता मिलना कठिन है। चंचल मन से भी प्रभु नाम स्मरण लाभकारक है। नाम स्मरण से सब काम बनेंगे। हम सुख चाहते हैं। शरणागति में सुख है। शरण में हैं, दास हैं, ऐसा ध्यान रहे।

Question: Suppose someone is firmly convinced that Krsna consciousness is the only thing that will save him but yet he still has inclinations toward material activities. Will Krsna force him in this case to become completely surrendered?............

Prabhupada: Yes. He puts the devotee in such a way that he is obliged to become Krsna consciousness fully. Naturally, because we have materially associated for so many lives, so even though we are trying to become fully Krsna conscious, so our material attachment sometimes drag us. But if we are very strongly Krsna conscious, so these attachment will be taken away by Krsna. That is mentioned in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, SB 10.88.8]

[The Personality of Godhead said: If I especially favor someone, I gradually deprive him of his wealth. Then the relatives and friends of such a poverty-stricken man abandon him. In this way he suffers one distress after another.]

I think I have personally that experience. Yes. I was not inclined to come to this line, but Krsna has forced me. That is His special favor. I am now understanding, "Yes." So Krsna is very intelligent. So if we foolishly want something other than Krsna, He makes us forgetful of such nonsense. That is Krsna's special favor.>>> Ref.
